Session: "Fabric of Our Lives" Theme: With each stitch of grace and hope our legacy is built, all fragments finally whole...the pieces of our quilt. Motto: Find parables in the patchwork of life. Aim: Look for the parables in the patchwork of your life. It can be beautiful because God the Quilter loves us. He will give us quilts from heaven. Emblem: Shear - to represent the bountiful parables we have in our lives. And by gathering here and there all will be whole...Seeds of faith. WGM's Scripture: "A joyful heart makes a cheerful face. (New American Standard Bible)." Proverbs 15:13 WGP's Scripture: "And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and you shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family." Leviticus 25:10 WGM's Honor Station: Worthy Patron - in honor of my Dad. WGM's Favorite Things: Lamb - for innocence. Wheat - for my country upbringing. Wooden dala horse and nesting dolls - the Swedish symbols for value and love. Crystal - for the possibilities of our dreams and glimpses of infinity. Patchwork heart - for all life's parables, may we find songs in our heart. Colors: Navy, cobalt, emerald, purple, fuchsia, teal, with accents of gold. Flowers: Pansy, hydrangea, lily of the valley, cream rose. WGP's Favorite Things: Mule Deer, anything hunting. WGM's Hymns: Harvest Time, Family Of God, Holy Bible, I Don't Know About Tomorrow, May The Good Lord Bless And Keep You, Thank You Lord For This Day (to the tune of Edelweiss) WGM's Songs: Any 40's music, In The Mood, Accentuate The Positive, Alley Cat, Tie A Yellow Ribbon, Without You, Coat Of Many Colors, Blessings, Brotherly Love, Turn Your Radio On, Feels Like Home To Me, Keep Me In Your Heart For Awhile WGP's Songs: New World In The Morning, America The Beautiful, Home On The Range, Rusty Chevrolet (to the tune of Jingle Bells), Any songs recorded by Marty Robbins Prayer: PIECES OF MY QUILT If quilts could talk I'd like to think I'd hear just what they'd say, "I'll hold you close within my folds and wipe your tears away." "I'll keep you warm and give you strength to face another day." If quilts could talk... If quilts could sing I'd like to think I'd recognize each tune, The lullaby or funeral dirge or wedding march in June. Both sweet and haunting melodies I'd listen to them croon. If quilts could sing... If quilts could write I'd like to think I'd read the words they'd pen, Of life and love and motherhood, of mystery without end. And, oh, the drama they could share of everywhere they'd been. If quilts could write... If quilts could pray I'd like to think I'd feel each heartfelt prayer Of thankfulness or great concern for those within their care; Petitions to a loving God - the one who's always there. If quilts could pray... The quilt of my own life Finds voice to talk, sing, write, and pray... As it weaves a hundred stories in its own eclectic way. And with each stitch of grace and hope my legacy is built; All fragments finally made a whole... The pieces of my quilt. |
